It is interesting that you would find it interesting. We Italians despise Autogrills (overpriced, low-quality food..). We actually share maps of alternative place where you can stop, just outside of highway exits, in order to avoid the dreaded Autogrill. But now you mention it, they are still way better that any American rest area. So, everything is relative.
The food was fine (great compared to US, not great compared to everything else in Italy), I found the merchandising and corporate history much more interesting.
