How interesting; I learned something new today. I've visited Charleston once, and hope to visit again soon after I retire. It was a quick sightseeing trip and in all my bookish travels through the pages since then, I realize just how much we didn't see when we were there. There are so many great books set in Charleston that draw on the city's unique history.
I remember noticing all the "singles" and wondering why they were situated the way they were, but I didn't think to ask anyone, as I'm sure dozens of people could have filled me in. I loved what little I saw of the city, I can wait to visit it again.
