I think you're slightly off on the timing of the shift from minimal to maximal...

You could say that DC ended up being on a whole other scale of business than Airwalk..but the form shift happened before them. In some sense the DC is actually a reduction from an Airwalk like this.
a shame they don't exist (in the indie sense of the term) anymore. what an iconic brand they've launched 🤯
