Great post. We simply aren't designed to evolve as quickly as the technologies, societies, and cultures we create. Add to that the culture-wide loss of bravery, desire for adventure, and the respect for individualism, and we're either about to enter a great period of expansion and re-balancing or our decline. Personally, I'm an optimist. The pain we feel is growth, we just don't see the results yet. As with all of life, the struggle is the point. Beauty emerges from chaos. We'll get there, but never as quickly or smoothly as we'd like.
