Look over in Europe, specifically UK where a crew cab VW T5/T6 or its less catchy named competitor the Dual Cab in Van (DCiV) Transit custom is a relatively popular family car for moutain bike lovers, outdoorsy types or tradesmen who like a one-car vehicle. They hold there own against anything out there. the MSRT transit and sportline VW's haev surprising performance too.
Why do we need to reinvent the minivan when the rest of the world seems to get by just fine with wagons. I’ve raised 3 kids and we’ve always had large dogs. We’ve been fine with a series of wagons (nearly all European makes because that’s all we get here). Wagons get great gas mileage, have a better driving position, and are better in nearly every way for daily life.
interesting!

OEMs who brought wagons to the US in the past 10 years: “They tried and failed?” “They tried and died.”
Hard to win when you’re competing against a tax code that favours oversized SUVs.
