I worked in The Hague, at Casema in 2006-2007, where they also had a paternoster in their building. Indeed, I was one of the adventurous ones, and sometime around the third or fourth journey, I stayed in when it got to the top floor just to see what would happen, and rode it up into the ceiling, horizontally, and then back down the other side. Always loved the fact that you didn't have to wait on the elevator to rise or descend - just wait a moment and jump in. Super cool. However, that paternoster is no longer in use because someone died while using it. But, in my opinion, that should make someone a candidate for the Darwin Awards. Why shut down such an amazing piece of engineering. There were safety features to prevent anyone from getting crushed. How that guy died, I'll never understand.
