long time listener, first time caller. Bobak is my new hero and I'm seriously considering a trip to SFO just to stop by. as someone that listens to the plantasia record whenever I go through a car wash, thanks to y'all and to Michael for this dispatch that lifted my spirits in a scummy time. long live the boombox dino.

Wow, one of my favorite articles-ever!!! Along with the pictures I was in information heaven. This piece was right up my alley. I really appreciated the writing and the person being written about. Perfect combo. Thanks for making my day!!! Thank you, Cassie Marketos, for turning me on to WITI. Cheap promo here and that is her site, “The Rot”, another ‘thing’ right up my alley and that is the art of recycling through compost. 👍

This article reminded of a stunning Bedrock Castrol gas station in Bulgaria - https://youtu.be/opn41MdhTLo

Wow wow wow, this was incredible, thank you! And this quote! "I've always wanted to bring some wonder to like the mundane…some playfulness to just, you know, pumping gas."

Love the newsletter, don’t always have time to read everyday, but when I do I’m glad I made the time. This profile/interview was at another level though, just an amazing person with all sorts of layers to his activism.

i have been getting this newsletter for a while and i don't read it that often because of , well you know, everything! the amount of time i have in the day to do extracurricular things...Anyway I read this one, and i was so glad that i did! As a person who is an artist, an animal rights vegetarian since i was 13 years old , and an environmentalist since probably early 20s, I love this story so much. I love that Bakhtiari basically flips off Shell, and has great lawyers that protect him while he artifies , and politicizes his gas station for good! i wish it was near me, i would go only there (even after he phases out gas. maybe he should change it to an EV charging station).

Yes. More Tanforan dinosaur, with or without politician. Less Shell gasoline.
